PROPOSAL TO UPGRADE AN OPTUS AND VODAFONE MOBILE PHONE BASE STATION

1. The location of the facility contains an existing ten-metre high timber power pole. This power pole is being replaced with a new twelve-metre high concrete power pole by the power authority in accordance with their rights under Electricity Industry Act 2000. The installation of the proposed facility on this replacement pole will comprise the following:
• Installation of stand-off mounts to accommodate antennas and ancillary equipmenton the new power pole.
• Installation of two new panel antennas (2.1 metres long) above the top of the pole on the stand-off mounts.
• Installation of equipment to be close-mounted below and behind the antennas on the stand-off mounts including two combiners, two fibre breakout boxes, four radio remote units and ten mast-head amplifiers.
• Replacement of the current equipment cabinet within the property boundary of 85 Nepean Highway, Aspendale with a 6-bay cabinet.
• Installation of other cabling and ancillary equipment as required for the safety and operation of the facility.
2. Optus and Vodafone regard the proposed installation aspermit-exempt in accordance with Victorian Planning Provisionsand Low-Impact in accordance with the Telecommunications(Low-impact Facilities) Determination 2018 (Amendment 1, 2021) based on the description above.
3. Notification is being undertaken in accordance with Section 7 of Industry Code C564:2020 Mobile Phone Base Station Deployment.
