81-83 George Street, Parramatta, NSW Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment – Registration of Interest
Urbis has been commissioned by Freecity Development No 1 Pty Ltd (‘the Proponent’) to conduct an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment (‘ACHA’) of 1 Barrack Lane and 81-83 George Street, Parramatta, legally defined as Lot 1/DP628004, Lot 250/ DP1287232, and Lot 101/DP1110883 (‘the subject area’).
This ACHA is being prepared to support an SSDA (SSD- 7943... ) seeking consent for a shop top housing development including build-to-rent (BTR) housing. The proposed development involves the construction of a shop top housing development, comprising of ground floor retail premises and multi-storey residential tower delivering 402 dwellings, 80 car parking spaces, and end of trip facilities. The ACHA is to be carried out in accordance with the National Parks and Wildlife Regulation 2019 (NSW) and the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents (DEECW 2010) and will include consultation with the Aboriginal community.
Urbis is seeking interest from Aboriginal parties who hold cultural knowledge relevant to determining the significance of Aboriginal objects and/or places that may exist within the subject area who wish to be included as a Registered Aboriginal Party (‘RAP’) for the ACHA.
