ABORIGINAL CULTURAL HERITAGE ASSESSMENT: Parramatta Transport Interchange, Fitzwilliam St and Argyle St, Parramatta, NSW

UPG Fitzwilliam Pty Ltd proposes to prepare an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment and Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit (AHIP) for the Early Works and Excavation (Development Application), as well as possible future SSD, for the next stages of works for the Parramatta Transport Interchange at Fitzwilliam St and Argyle Streets. The proposed activities include necessary demolition and clearing of existing structures, such as fencing, hardstand areas, archaeological investigation, bulk earthworks to enable the construction of the future basement, stabilisation works and construction of retaining structures, including necessary shoring, piling, and cap beams, erosion and sediment control, construction of a mixed-use Built to Rent development and ancillary and other activities, as required.

Proposed works have the potential to impact Aboriginal objects and Potential Aboriginal Deposit PT1 PAD-01 (AHIMS ID 45-6-4080).

UPG Fitzwilliam Pty Ltd wishes to invite Aboriginal people and Aboriginal groups who hold cultural knowledge relevant to determining the significance of Aboriginal objects and places within the Paramatta, NSW area to register to be consulted as part of the preparation of an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment/s (ACHA) for the proposed activity. The purpose of the process of community consultation is to assist the proposed applicant in the preparation of an application for an AHIP and/or SSD application and to assist the regulator in his or her consideration and determination of the application.

Please be advised that, as per the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents (DECCW 2010) the names of Aboriginal persons and groups who register an interest will be forwarded to Heritage NSW and Deerubbin Local Aboriginal Land Council unless the person or group specifies that they do not want their details released.
