Morson Group proposes to undertake a Tourism Development at 39-65 Old Castlereagh Road, Castlereagh. The proposed site is within the Penrith Local Government Area. The proposed activities will include earthworks, construction of multi-storey serviced apartments, indoor recreational facilities, neighbourhood shops, club, community space, parking facilities and ancillary works and infrastructure.
The proposed activities have the potential to harm Aboriginal objects and/or places and may result in an application for an Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit (AHIP).
Morson Group wishes to invite Aboriginal people and Aboriginal groups who hold cultural knowledge relevant to determining the significance of Aboriginal objects and places within the project area to in a process of community consultation for the project. The purpose of community consultation with Aboriginal people is to assist the proponent in the preparation of the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment and any application for an AHIP and to assist the regulator in their consideration and determination of any AHIP application.
