PUBLIC NOTICE
CONSULTATION ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAWS
Moreton Bay City Council (“Council”) proposes to make the:
1. Amendment Local Law (Effective Control of Dogs and Other Matters) 2025
The purpose and general effect of the proposed local law is to amend the following local laws to introduce a new process for the immediate cancellation of an event approval, introduce a new requirement for the release of an animal impounded for wandering at large 3 times in a 12 month period, limit the operation of the noise nuisance defence for keeping roosters, align with State legislation and address operational and drafting issues:
2. Amendment Subordinate Local Law (Minimum Standards for Keeping Dogs and Other Matters) 2025
The purpose and general effect of the proposed subordinate local law is to amend the following subordinate local laws to introduce a new minimum standard for keeping dogs, introduce new off-street regulated parking areas, align with State legislation and address operational and drafting issues:
3. The following local laws allow the proposed Amendment Subordinate Local Law (Minimum Standards for Keeping Dogs and Other Matters) 2025 to be made:
Written submissions by any person in support of, or objecting to, the proposed local laws are invited for a 4 week period commencing on 3 March 2025 and ending on 31 March 2025 (the “consultation period”).
Submission can be lodged:
During the consultation period Council will make available on its website and make available for inspection and purchase at Council’s public office at Redcliffe, Strathpine and Caboolture copies of the proposed local laws.
Submissions must be received on or before 5pm on 31 March 2025 stating—
(a) the grounds of the submission; and
(b) the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds.
