Guy Marquis FRACS (Orth.) Orthopaedic Surgeon

Knee and Hip Replacement Surgery

Arthroscopic Shoulder and Sporting Injury Surgery

Trauma Surgery

Dr Marquis is pleased to announce that, after many years in private solo Orthopaedic

practice and latterly as a member of Storm Bay Orthopaedics, as from April 17th, 2025, he will be relocating his practice to join Dr Josh Petterwood at Petterwood Orthopaedics.

Dr Marquis has an extensive 30-year experience in specialised lower limb arthroplasty, shoulder and knee ligament and arthroscopic surgery, and more generalised sporting injury surgery. He remains a keen devotee of contemporary muscle-sparing surgical approaches, computer and robotic assisted arthroplasty techniques, and cutting edge, patient-focused techniques of orthopaedic care. During his surgical career Guy has gained a reputation for an easy communication style and careful, thoughtful clinical assessment of his patients needs which he combines with meticulous surgical technique in order to gain the most favourable outcomes.

As Storm Bay Orthopaedics developed its own focus on Foot and Ankle Surgery, Podiatry and Sports Medicine, Dr Marquis considered this was an appropriate time to relocate to a practice more closely aligned with his own areas of interest and expertise. He has been a long-term mentor to Dr Petterwood (and indeed most other Orthopaedic Surgeons in Hobart) and shares many surgical interests and philosophies with him. As a newly formed group Orthopaedic Practice with comprehensive orthopaedic specialty expertise, we are both excited to provide our experience and care to your patients.

Guy currently carries out surgery including:

- Hip Replacement via muscle sparing Direct Anterior Approaches (DAA) to decrease

post-operative pain and rehabilitation times.

- Total and Partial Knee Replacement using Computer Assisted Robotic (ROSA)

techniques to assist surgical accuracy and minimise operative trauma, thus aiding

rapid recovery and enhancing joint longevity.

- Joint preserving arthroscopic and open surgery of the knee for traumatic,

degenerative and patellofemoral disorders.

- Knee Ligament reconstruction surgery of the cruciate and collateral ligaments.

- Arthroscopic and Open shoulder rotator cuff repair techniques

- Trauma and Fracture Surgery

He can be contacted at Petterwood Orthopaedics ph(03) 6228... , fax (03) 6228... , email admin@petterwoodorthopaedics.com).

He looks forward to continuing to assist you in the orthopaedic management of your

patients.
