An electoral representation review for the City of Onkaparinga is underway to determine whether the community would benefit from any alterations to the composition and ward structure of Council and to ensure fair and equitable representation for all voters.
A representation review, a requirement of the Local Government Act, must be undertaken every eight years.
We invite you to have your say on the proposed future composition and structure of Council.
Council is proposing:
• the Council area continues to be divided into wards;
• the elected body of Council will be comprised of twelve (12) Ward Councillors, with two (2) Councillors representing each Ward, as well as a Mayor, elected by the community as a whole; and
• the realignment of ward boundaries.

Consultation runs from 3 October 2024 until 5pm on Thursday 24 October 2024
Persons who makes a written submission will be offered the opportunity to address Council at a future Council meeting, in support of their submission.
Any changes to the electoral structure of the City of Onkaparinga will be carried into effect from polling day at the next Local Government Periodic Elections in 2026.
