The City of Gold Coast's (City) Local Law No. 12 (Animal Management) 2013 allows the City to designate or redact any part of a park, foreshore or bathing reserve as an animal control area. As a result, dog off leash areas, animal prohibited areas and animal restricted areas are known as animal control areas and are listed in the Animal Control Area Register.
The City is seeking to formally amend the Animal Control Area Register and seeks public feedback on the proposed amendments.
Its purpose: To amend the City’s Animal Control Area Register by introducing new dog off leash and dog prohibited areas, to realign and/or move existing animal control areas and to remove existing animal control areas.
