Pursuant to section 14 of the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982 (the Act), Kingborough Council (Council) having considered:
(i) Recent changes with regard to construction of local highways in the area (including the construction and opening of Spring Farm Road); and
(ii) the fact that the creation of the Kingston Bypass has resulted in the local highway known as Spring Farm Lane (“the Road”) to be bisected by the said Bypass and no longer leading to any private or Council property desirous of access;
have duly resolved on 5 August 2024 to close to all traffic the local highway known as Spring Farm Lane for the public benefit and due to lack of use. A plan of the proposed road closure can be obtained from Kingborough Council offices at the address below during business hours, 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday or via email.
Representations must be submitted in writing to the Chief Executive Officer, Kingborough Council, Civic Centre, 15 Channel Highway, Kingston in Tasmania 7050 or emailed to drosen@kingborough.tas.gov.au during the 28 day advertised period commencing on 18 September 2024.
