PUBLIC HOLIDAY CLOSURES & ARRANGEMENTS
Office Closures: The Civic Centre will be closed on Friday 18 April and will re-open on Wednesday 23 April. This location will also be closed on Friday 25 April for ANZAC Day.
Kerbside Waste Collection: All kerbside collection services will continue as normal, including collections scheduled for Friday 18 April and Friday 25 April for ANZAC Day. Please ensure that all bins are out by 6:00 am.
Waste Management Sites - Barretta and Bruny: The Barretta Waste Management Facility and the Bruny Island Waste Transfer Station will be closed on Friday 18 April. Both sites will operate normal Public Holiday hours for the remainder of the Easter period, and on Friday 25 April for ANZAC Day.
Council Emergency Services: For all after-hours emergency services including roads and stormwater, please call the after-hours number below.
INTENTION TO LICENCE PUBLIC LAND
Pursuant to Section 178(4)(a) of the Local Government Act 1993 (TAS), the Kingborough Council, having considered the matter, has resolved on the 17 March 2025 as to its intent to licence part of the land at the Suncoast Drive Playground located at Lot 600, Suncoast Drive, Blackmans Bay, Tasmania, 7052 for the purpose of the installation of a Community Battery.
The likely dimensions of the proposed Community Battery would be 3m wide x 2.4m deep x 2.6m tall and is planned to be situated at the southern corner of the reserve near Suncoast Drive Road.
Pursuant to Section 178(4)(b) of the Local Government Act 1993 (TAS), any objection to the proposed licencing of the land may be made to the Chief Executive Officer at the addresses below and must be received by 4 May 2025.
