MINING LEASE NOTICE MINERAL RESOURCES ACT 1989 – SECTION 252

Proposed additional surface area for mining operation at Ravenswood Mine – Mining Lease Number 1639 – to expire on 30.09.2027 – Charters Towers Mining District

It is advised that an application has been made for additional surface area to mining under the provisions of the above mentioned Acts, for the mining/purpose of mining minerals including gold ore, antimony ore, bismuth ore, copper ore, lead ore, silver ore, zinc ore, and any activities ancillary to those mining activities including environmental buffers on the following land parcels within the Charters Towers Regional Council.

Lot 1 on MPH4707 State Land

The application is located at approximately 1km East of Ravenswood

The applicant is: Ravenswood Gold Pty Ltd (100%)

Date and time application lodged: 2 December 2022 8.30am

Mining activities to be carried out include: Mining minerals including gold ore, antimony ore, bismuth ore, copper ore, lead ore, silver ore, zinc ore, and any activities ancillary to those mining activities including environmental buffers.

Making a properly made objection

It is advised that any person/entity may make an objection to the grant of the mining lease. The objection period, during which objections can be given, concludes on 1 November 2024 at 4.30pm (AEST).

A properly made objection must be received on or before 4.30pm (AEST) on the last day of the objection period. It must be lodged with the chief executive in writing in the approved form, addressed to the relevant Assessment Hub:

Objection for the mining lease application:

A properly made objection in respect to the grant of the mining lease is one that:

  • is lodged on or before 4:30pm on the last objection day for the application with the chief executive in writing in the approved form;
  • states the grounds of the objection and the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds;
  • is signed and dated by each person/entity (i.e. signatory) making the objection; and
  • states the name and address of each signatory.
