Notice of intention to make a water extraction licence decision
(Pursuant to section 71B of the Water Act 1992)
The Controller of Water Resources hereby gives notice that a decision is to be made regarding an application for a new water extraction licence under Section 60 of the Water Act 1992. The application is associated with the Mt Bundey Granite Quarry with the beneficial use of mining activity.
The proposed source of extraction is a Local Aquifer outside of all water control districts. In accordance with the NT Water Allocation Planning Framework, 92.7 ML/year is available for consumptive uses including licensed use. The total quantity of water that may be taken from this water resource under existing groundwater extraction licences is 0 ML/year. Annual reported extraction during 2023-2024 water year was 0 ML.
