NOTICE ABOUT 2024 BOOST MOBILE GOLD COAST 500 TEMPORARY WORKS AND UNATTENDED VEHICLES ON PUBLIC LAND
I, Michael Healy, Minister for Tourism and Sport give notice give notice that for the periods from Friday 13 September 2024 to midday Thursday 24 October 2024; and from midday Monday 28 October 2024 to midnight on Saturday 16 November 2024, the major event organiser for the 2024 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 (V8 Supercars Australia Pty Ltd ACN 077 053 484) intends to exercise its powers under section 16 of the Major Events Act 2014 to carry out and maintain temporary works and carry out incidental activities on public land inside the areas surrounding Macintosh Island Park, the areas in Southport Broadwater Parklands and 3332 Surfers Paradise Boulevard as shown on the map prescribed under Schedule 2 of the Major Events (Motor Racing Events) Regulation 2015. To enable temporary works and maintenance to be carried out during the stated periods, vehicles left unattended on public land as shown on the prescribed map may be moved and dealt with in accordance with the Major Events Act 2014 (including moving and storing vehicles at owners’ expense).
