Notice of intention to make a water extraction licence decision
(Pursuant to section 71B of the Water Act 1992)
The Controller of Water Resources hereby gives notice that a decision is to be made regarding an application to increase the entitlement of water extraction licence 9031020 under Section 45 of the Water Act 1992. The application is associated with the SILL80 Project (ML27422, ML29042 and ML31403), with the beneficial use of mining activity.
The source of extraction is the Roper River, located within the Daly Roper Beetaloo Water Control District. The application will be assessed in accordance with the Surface Water Take – Wet Season Flows policy for a period of one year, with water extraction occurring during intervals of high flows within the Roper River. Currently, there are no licence holders within the Roper River extracting water under the Wet Season Flows policy. The total reported annual extraction for all licences drawing water from the Roper River Basin during the 2023–2024 water year was 1,547 ML.
