NOTICE OF INTENTION TO SEIZE AND REMOVE ABANDONED PROPERTY

Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Act 1994, section 175A(3)


Date of notice: 22 April 2025


I, Jeremy Lind am appointed as a Shipping Inspector under part 13 of the Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Act 1994 (the Act).


Description of abandoned property:


Ship 1 Approximate 8 metre X 2 metre concrete pontoon.

Ship 2 Approximate 2 metre X 3 metre timber pontoon.

Ship 3 Approximate 5 metre X 2 metre concrete pontoon.

Ship 4 Approximate 4 metre X 2 metre concrete pontoon.

Ship 5 Approximate 4 metre X 1 metre plastic pontoon.

Ship 6 Approximate 10 metre X 3 metre concrete pontoon.

Ship 7 Approximate 10 metre X 3 metre concrete pontoon.

Ship 8 Approximate 6 metre X 1 metre concrete pontoon.

Ship 9 Approximate 10 metre X 2.5 metre concrete pontoon.

Ship 10 Approximate 6 metre X 1.5 metre pontoon.

Ship 1- the property was found in the South Brisbane Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 28.531'S, longitude 153° 1.483'E on 26 March 2025.

Ship 2-- the property was found in the Sherwood Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 32.237'S, longitude 152° 58.397'E on 18 March 2025.

Ship 3- the property was found in the Saint Lucia Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 29.749'S, longitude 153° 1.272'E on 26 March 2025.

Ship 4- the property was found in the Saint Lucia Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 29.363'S, longitude 152° 59.683'E on 16 March 2025.

Ship 5- the property was found in the Shafston Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 29.363'S, longitude 152° 59.683'E on 13 March 2025.

Ship 6- the property was found in the Long Pocket Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 30.947'S, longitude 153° 0.352'E on 13 March 2025.

Ship 7- the property was found in the Long Pocket Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 30.947'S, longitude 153° 0.352'E on 15 March 2025.

Ship 8- the property was found in the Humbug Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 28.202'S, longitude 153° 3.271'E on 13 March 2025.

Ship 9- property was found in the Town Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 28.435'S, longitude 153° 1.935'E on 13 March 2025.

Ship 10- property was found in the Humbug Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 28.556'S, longitude 153° 3.007'E on 15 March 2025.

Ship 11- property was found in the Humbug Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 28.070'S, longitude 153° 3.333'E on 19 March 2025.

Ship 12- property was found in the St Lucia Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 29.819'S, longitude 153° 1.275'E on 19 March 2025.

Ship 13 - property was found in the St Lucia Reach, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 29.819'S, longitude 153° 1.275'E on 19 March 2025.

Ship 14, 15,16,17- property was found in the Aquarium Passage, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 25.944'S, longitude 153° 7.719'E on 19 March 2025.

Ship 18,19,20 - property was found in the Aquarium Passage, Brisbane in approximate position Latitude 27° 25.910'S, longitude 153° 7.729'Eon 19 March 2025.


I reasonably believe that property is abandoned property.


When abandoned property may be seized and removed:


If the property described above is not claimed by 21 May 2025, it may be seized and removed to by Maritime Safety Queensland.


Statement for the purposes of section 175A(5) of the Act:


If no one claims the property within the time stated above and I seize and remove it, I may, having regard to the value and condition of the property and without further notice–

(a) sell the property by public auction; or

(b) destroy it.


If you wish to assert ownership in the property described above, you must attend in person the Maritime Safety Queensland at 819 MacArthur Avenue EAST in the State of Queensland before 4pm on 21 May 2025.
