City of Charles Sturt is proposing to make resolutions under Section 32 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 to close a portion of Drayton Street in Brompton/Bowden between East Street, Brompton, and Second Street, Bowden, as well as a portion of East Street, Brompton, between Drayton Street, Brompton, and a point 20 metres north-east of Drayton Street, Brompton, to vehicle traffic.
The land will remain designated as road reserve but will be transformed into a landscaped corridor and continuation of the Outer Harbor Greenway cycling route. The closure applies only to vehicle traffic. The land is being developed as part of the Brompton Gasworks development and has been closed to traffic via barriers since 2019.
