Major Development Plan – BNE Auto Mall
In compliance with Section 96AA of The Airports Act 1996 (Cth), Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Ltd (BAC) advises that on 16 December 2024, the Hon Catherine King MP, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, acknowledged the withdrawal of the Major Development Plan (MDP) for the BNE Auto Mall at Brisbane Airport.
The impacts arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as domestic and international market factors, have not only changed the automotive market but also resulted in significant construction cost escalations. These circumstances have resulted in BAC being unable to continue with the development as planned.
