NOTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION OF ABORIGINAL INTERESTS

Biosis Pty Ltd (Biosis) is undertaking an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment and possible test excavations to inform the development of a high school at 201 Guntawong Road, Tallawong (Lot 1 DP 1283186), New South Wales, within the City of Blacktown Local Government Area for School Infrastructure New South Wales (SINSW, Paul Ortiz, Schoolinfrastructure@det.nsw.edu.au).
In accordance with the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents 2010 (DECCW 2010), Biosis invites Aboriginal people who hold cultural knowledge in determining the significance of Aboriginal objects and/or places in the vicinity of the above area to register their interest in a process of community consultation.
The purpose of Aboriginal community consultation is to provide sufficient information for the assessment of Aboriginal cultural heritage values, and to assist the Secretary of the Department of Planning, Housing and infrastructure in their consideration and determination of the application. The project will be undertaken in accordance with the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 and assessed as State Significant Development under Part 4.36 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

Please note that the name of each group that registers for consultation on this project will be provided to Heritage NSW, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and the Local Aboriginal Land Council unless the group specifies that they do not want their details released.
