NOTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION OF ABORIGINAL INTERESTS

Biosis Pty Ltd (Biosis) is undertaking an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment (ACHA) and including test excavations for Allan and Don Lawrence Field (Lot 1537 – 1538 DP832922), at Thomas Coke Drive, Thornton, NSW, within the Maitland Local Government Area on behalf of Maitland City Council (Suzanne Schmidt, suzanne.schmidt@maitland.nsw.gov.au, (02) 4934 ... ).
Biosis invites Aboriginal people who hold cultural knowledge in determining the significance of Aboriginal objects and/or places in the vicinity of the above area to register their interest in a process of community consultation.
The purpose of Aboriginal community consultation is to assist Maitland City Council in preparing an application for an Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit (if required) and to assist Heritage NSW, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (Heritage NSW) in its assessment of the application. The project will be undertaken in accordance with the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974.
