PLANNING SCHEME AMENDMENT

The Glenorchy Planning Authority has certified draft amendment PLAM-22/06 to the Glenorchy Local Provisions Schedule. The draft amendment may be inspected on Council’s website https://www.gcc.tas.gov.au or during normal office hours at the Council offices, 374 Main Road, Glenorchy, from 28 March 2025 until 28 April 2025.

What land is affected by the amendment?

36 Cadbury Road, Claremont; Part of Cadbury Road reserve; 41 Main Road, Claremont; 2 Wyndham Rd, Claremont; 4 Myrtle Forest Road, Collinsvale; 564, 566, 568 Kalang Avenue, Glenorchy; 374 Main Road, Glenorchy; 37 Black Snake Road, Granton; 116 Bowen Road, Lutana; 20 Cook Street, Lutana; 6A Cox Avenue, Lutana; 117 Derwent Park Road, Lutana; 14 O’Grady Avenue, Lutana; 10 O’Grady Avenue, Lutana; and 105-111 Main Road, Moonah.

What does the draft amendment seek to do?

The amendment proposes updates to the GLE-C6.0 Local Historic Heritage Code List and associated references in GLE-Site-specific Qualifications and GLE-Applied, Adopted or Incorporated documents within the Glenorchy LPS.

What is the reason for the amendment?

The amendment seeks to review the heritage status of various properties within the Glenorchy municipality. The proposed amendment includes de-listing of ‘below threshold’ sites that are currently listed, modifications to existing heritage entries to better reflect the extent of heritage values and addition of some Council-owned sites as new heritage entries.

How can I be involved?

In accordance with Section 40G of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993, any person may make representation about the draft amendment during the above period by letter addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Glenorchy City Council, P.O. Box 103, Glenorchy, 7010 or by email to gccmail@gcc.tas.gov.au .

It is important, if you wish to have your say either in favour or against the draft amendment, that you put your comments in writing to Council. Otherwise, you will not have formal status in any future processes involving the final decision-making body for the draft amendment, the Tasmanian Planning Commission.
