PROPOSAL TO UPGRADE A MOBILE PHONE BASE STATION AT

5A PRICE STREET ESSENDON VIC 3040

(Rooftop facility on the Church)

Telstra is proposing to upgrade the existing mobile phone infrastructure at the above address to allow for the introduction of 5G to Telstra’s network (and reconfiguration of existing technologies if required).

• The proposal consists of the addition of NR/LTE2600, NR3500 and NR850 technologies (5G) and LTE700, LTE2100 & LTE1800 technologies (4G)
• The addition of three (3) new panel antennas
• New shroud with selected areas of perforation to allow for airflow
• The addition of six (6) new Remote Radio Units (RRU’s);
• The addition of three (3) new Tower Mounted Amplifiers (TMA’s) and three (3) Junction Boxes
• The removal of redundant equipment including three panel antenna, one (1) RRU’s and nine (9) TMA’s
• Ancillary works may be necessary for the safety and functioning of the existing mobile phone base station and may include antenna mounts, signage, conduits, cables, maintenance and safety equipment.

Telstra regards the proposed installation as a Low-impact Facility
under the Telecommunications (Low-impact Facilities) Determination 2018 ("The Determination") based on the description above.
