PROPOSAL TO UPGRADE AN EXISTING TELSTRA MOBILE PHONE BASE STATION IN SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK

  1. The proposed facility consists of the following to improve Telstra’s mobile phone network, including 4G / 5G:
    • Removal of nine (9) existing panel antennas.
    • Installation of three (3) new panel antennas (measuring 2688mm in length) at a height elevation of 47.0m.
    • Installation of three (3) new 5G panel antennas (measuring 793mm in length) at a height elevation of 44.5m.
    • Ancillary works such as: tower mounted amplifiers, remote radio units, combiners, diplexers, mounts, cable trays, feeders, cables and internal works within the existing Telstra equipment shelter.

  1. Telstra regards the proposed installation as a Low-Impact Facility under the Telecommunications (Low-impact Facilities) Determination based on the description above. The proposed infrastructure will comply with ACMA EME regulatory arrangements.
