The upgrade comprises the removal of four (4) existing panel antennas from the wall of the existing carpark and installation of two (2) new panel antennas (each less than 2m in length) near the top of the façade (level with rooftop carpark).
Installation and replacement of ancillary equipment such as remote radio units, filters combiners, mounts, cable trays, and cables will also occur and two new equipment cabinets will be installed inside the carpark building.
The proposed upgrade will improve existing 4G services from the facility and introduce 5G services to the surrounding area.
Telstra regards the proposed upgrade works as ‘low-impact’ pursuant to the Telecommunications (Low-Impact Facilities) Determination 2018 based on the description above.
