Proposed citywide amendment – Inner-City Affordability Initiative


As its meeting on 11 June 2024, Brisbane City Council proposed a tailored amendment – Inner-City Affordability Initiative to Brisbane City Plan 2014 to support the delivery of new affordable housing in well-serviced areas of the inner city.


The purpose and general effect of the proposed amendment is to change the City core and City frame parking area boundaries within Figure a of the Transport, access, parking and servicing code, which applies special parking rates to new development. The proposed change will apply the special parking rates to additional areas in the inner city within 5km of the city centre that have easy access to high-frequency public transport and active travel infrastructure.


Copies of the proposed amendment are available for inspection and purchase from the Brisbane City Council Library and Customer Service Centre, Level 1, North Quay Podium, Brisbane Square, 266 George Street, Brisbane.
