The Council has resolved to make a by-law about animal management in the municipality.
The main objective of the by-law is to ensure responsible animal ownership in the City of Glenorchy, minimising animal related nuisances, and ensuring animals are kept under effective control.
When a council seeks to make a new by-law, we also have to prepare a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS). This RIS explains the by-law in more detail and analyses the most efficient and effective options available to address a particular issue and avoiding unnecessary regulation.
A copy of the by-law and the Regulatory Impact Statement may be inspected at the Glenorchy City Council Customer Service Centre, 374 Main Road Glenorchy until 21 days after the date of this notice.
The draft by-law and Regulatory Impact Statement are also available at https://www.gcc.tas.gov.au.
Submissions in respect of the By-Law may be made online via Council’s Let’s Talk page, or in writing addressed to and lodged with the Chief Executive Officer, stating the grounds of the submission and the facts relied upon to support those grounds.
If you would like to make a submission, head to Council’s website, write to the Glenorchy City Council, PO Box 103, Glenorchy, TAS 7010 or email gccmail@gcc.tas.gov.au within 21 days after the date of this notice.
