PROPOSAL TO UPGRADE AN OPTUS MOBILE PHONE BASE STATION

- The proposal consists of upgrading the Optus coverage within the Edgecliff Station as co-located on the Telstra distributed antenna system (DAS). The works include:
- Reconfiguration of rack equipment within the Optus room at Edgecliff Station.
- Installation of wall-mounted and cabinet equipment within three locations within the station and surrounding tunnels.
- Replacement of four ceiling-mounted antennas within the station.
- Ancillary equipment and works, or any other necessary activity for the installation.
The proposal will modernise the existing equipment to add Optus 4G (LTE700) and 5G (NR900) to the Edgecliff Station concourse, platforms and tunnels.
- Optus regards the proposed installation as a low-impact facility in accordance with the Telecommunications (Low-impact Facilities) Determination 2018 (Amendment 1, 2021) based on the description above.
- Notification is being undertaken in accordance with Section 7 of Industry Code C564:2020 Mobile Phone Base Station Deployment.
