Temporary Road Closure
Kensington Street, Glenorchy
Under Section 21 of the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982, notice is hereby given that a temporary road closure will occur to undertake a raised pavement construction – school crossing in front of Glenorchy Primary School, in Kensington Street, Glenorchy.
Glenorchy City Council is required to close Kensington Street between Main Road and Chapel Street for raised pavement – school crossing works. The road closure is scheduled to commence on Monday 14th April 2025 for a period of 2 weeks subject to prevailing weather and unforeseen conditions.
The road will be closed to all through traffic for the duration of works, between No.16 and No.23 Kensington St. There will be a detour in place via Main Rd.
Residents will still have access to their properties; however pedestrian access through the worksite may be restricted. Residents will also be notified when driveway access will not be possible. There may be delays and/or inconveniences for duration of works.
Council apologises for the inconvenience this may cause and requests all residents/ motorists/ pedestrians to obey all advisory signs, detours and reduced speed limits during the above period.
