Everick Heritage Pty Ltd wish to advise that we have been engaged to undertake an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment (ACHA), located at Lot 1 DP 121453 at Randwick Girls High School, Barker Street, Randwick NSW 2031 and Randwick Boys High School, Corner of Rainbow and Avoca Street, Randwick NSW 2031, on behalf of Schools Infrastructure NSW (SINSW). SINSW are proposing major refurbishments of Building I, General Learning Space (GLS) and Staff Study/Lounge, as well as multiple refurbishments throughout the schools. In addition, it is proposed to construct a new administration/ staff, GLS and lecture theatre on the existing car park.
Everick Heritage is seeking the assistance of the Aboriginal community in assessing potential impacts this Project may have on Aboriginal cultural values in the area. The consultation will be undertaken to inform the ACHA, which is required by La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council and Heritage NSW.

In consideration of the Heritage NSW, Department of Environment Climate Change and Water (DECCW) Guide to Investigating, Assessing and Reporting on Aboriginal Cultural Heritage in NSW 2011, and in order to ensure that they fulfil their legal and ethical obligations to identify and protect Aboriginal cultural heritage, our client has instructed us to undertake the full community consultation process recommended by DECCW in their Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents (2010). This consultation may be used to support an Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit (AHIP) application.
Please note that details of the Aboriginal people or organisations who register an interest in consultation will be forwarded to Heritage NSW and La Perouse LALC.
