The King’s School, Parramatta, NSW Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment – Registration of Interest
Urbis has been commissioned by the Council of the King’s School (‘the proponent’) to conduct an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment (‘ACHA’) of a portion of the King’s School, Parramatta campus, located at 87-129 Pennant Hills Road, North Parramatta (‘the subject area’). The subject area is legally described as Lot 1 DP 57491.
The subject area is located in the City of Parramatta Local Government Area and within the administrative boundaries of the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council.
This ACHA is being prepared to support a Development Application for the construction of a new 'Bicentenary Pavilion'. This pavilion will provide a space for large gatherings of students and staff, situated next to the existing chapel. The proposed development includes the construction of the single-story Bicentenary Pavilion, along with associated site establishment works, landscaping, paving, and the removal of seven trees to accommodate the new structure.

The ACHA will be conducted in accordance with the relevant guidelines under the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974, including community consultation with registered Aboriginal parties.
The Proponent is seeking the registration of Aboriginal persons or groups who may hold cultural knowledge relevant to determining the significance of Aboriginal object(s) and/or place(s) that may be present in the subject area.
