Expressions of Interest are called from qualified Contractors for works related to stream restoration.
The Trust is a statutory body incorporated under the River Improvement Trust Act 1940. It is responsible for stream management and restoration within the boundaries of the Cairns Regional Council (Smithfield to the Russell River). Projects that the Trust undertakes include riverbank repair and restoration, in-stream vegetation management and revegetation of streambanks and riparian areas. Works include streambank battering, supply and placement of rock revetment, supply and placement of suitable cover soil, and relocation of fallen trees within watercourses.
Trust seeks information regarding potential contractors’ plant and equipment, experience and an indication of rates and charges. Appropriate Insurances are a pre-requisite, current Certificates of Currency will need to be sighted.
