REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

6/7/2024

Barkly Regional Alcohol & Drug Abuse Advisory Group (BRADAAG) is seeking a consulting firm to support the organisation's research and development phase. We are requesting a proposal from suitably qualified and experienced consulting firms or groups of consultants outlining how they will support our requirements over the next 3-5 years.

Background

BRADAAG is an important and highly valued organisation in the Barkly and has been in a successful period of renewal, revitalisation and reset over the last two years.

Strengthening

BRADAAG's foundations and ways of working are now the focus.

Our organisation, while small and financially stable, operates within a resource constrained environment. The needs of our clients significantly outweigh our ability to address them comprehensively. Our small management team, tasked with a wide array of responsibilities, is challenged by time constraints..

Requirements

BRADAAG requires the services of a consultant or group of consultants to support the next phase of its development. Our strategic plan sets out the path that we will follow.

Our support needs include:

• Identifying and approaching funders to invest in the model we have developed.
• Guidance in building relationships with funding partners
• Employment of an Aboriginal consultant to build those relationships on our behalf
• Proactive identification of and assistance in preparing submissions for funding on a risk-sharing basis

The consulting firm should be actively seeking to employ an Aboriginal professional, ideally based in NT. This individual will be instrumental in cultivating partnerships with various organisations and establishing relationships that will secure funding for our strategic plan. This approach underscores our commitment to diversity and strategic growth. We recognise the value of diverse expertise and are committed to providing the necessary support and guidance to ensure their success.

In collaboration with the BRADAAG General Manager, our consulting firm will diligently adhere to the Board's directives. We understand that the Board and Management of BRADAAG are experts in their own right but may not possess the full range of skills needed for every task. Therefore, we are eager to bring on board someone with additional experience and expertise to complement the existing team and facilitate the achievement of our goals. This strategic collaboration is designed to enhance our collective skills, optimise resources, and ensure the successful realisation of our objectives.

Consulting firm experience and qualifications

The successful proposals will outline their experience and qualifications in the following areas:

• Aboriginal Alcohol and other drug dependency & other well-being services
• Aboriginal Employment
• Aboriginal Men's Health
• Aboriginal Women's Programs
• Aboriginal Housing
• Experience working with remote communities and Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory.
• Other potentially relevant consulting areas

Remuneration proposal

Please outline your remuneration requirements and your ability to contribute to the future success of BRADAAG. (Eg Fee for service and/or retainer and/or success fee.)

Selection Criteria

We will be reviewing submissions against the following criteria:
• Past experiences in the NT
• Qualifications
• Remuneration proposal and Schedule of fees
